Supervisor – Support & Tech Instruments QLD Metallurgical Operations, Maintenance, Copper Smelter & MPS Electrical – Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia – Ref. No. 18090 The Role We have a residential position available within our Electrical Maintenance team. This role reports to the Electrical Superintendent and requires effective coordination and supervision of a team of electrical personnel performing maintenance, calibrations, projects and minor installation work across the Copper Smelter and Environmental assets. As the person controlling electrical works, you will ensure that all electrical and instrumentation maintenance tasks are completed safely and on time. Responsibilities
- Plan and control shift maintenance operations to optimise resource use.
- Plan and coordinate the Tech Instrument team.
- Provide support to Electrical Maintenance teams.
- Complete operational and capital electrical projects.
- Provide supervision for electrical contractors.
- Manage crew performance.
- Manage shutdown work.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and workplace inspections.
- Build and maintain an effective team through coaching and role modelling.
- Ensure electrical safety and statutory compliance.
- Meet environmental maintenance targets and compliance.
- Identify and complete electrical continuous improvement projects.
- Support supervisors and management to achieve maintenance and production targets.

- Trade qualification – Electrician or equivalent Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence.
- Minimum 5 years post‑trade experience in an operating fixed‑plant process environment.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel including VBA, and Word).
- Safety as a core personal value.
- Ability to work within an integrated and diverse team under challenging deadlines.
- Ability to run contracting teams and small projects.
- Decision‑making, quality, communication, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Highly organised with effective time‑management skills. Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Yokogawa DCS and PLC programming.
- Environmental instrumentation experience – Fixed SO2, dust & XACT analysers.
- Prior experience in a similar role – Fixed plant maintenance.
- Shift breakdown experience.
- S1, S2, S3 qualifications.
