Senior Occupational Therapist – Mount Isa, Queensland Employment Type Permanent – Full-Time Practice Information This organisation has been providing culturally competent allied health, aged care, mental health, and wellbeing services for over 30 years. Servicing more than 50 remote and rural Queensland communities, they are a vibrant not-for‑profit organisation with strong community connections and a commitment to supporting healthier people. Position Description You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of allied health professionals to deliver holistic, client‑focused care. This is not your typical private practice role, you’ll enjoy flexibility, a diverse caseload, and the opportunity to see the long‑term outcomes of your work in the community. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Help clients participate more fully in daily life and community activities
- Conduct functional assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
- Recommend and implement environmental modifications and assistive technology
- Provide education and guidance to families, carers, teachers, and employers
- Deliver early childhood supports and promote healthy living initiatives
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients Senior Responsibilities
- Providing clinical direction for the Occupational Therapy Team across the business, in conjunction with Allied Health Team Leaders
- Implementing and reviewing clinical procedures, policies and ensuring accreditation standards are met
- Organisation of Occupational Therapy student placement activities
- Providing clinical mentoring support and clinical education to the Occupational Therapy cohort, and wider health professional team
- Supporting participants inclusion in the communities and activities they choose
- Assessing clients' emotional, cognitive, developmental and physical capabilities using clinical observations and standardised assessments
- Planning and directorship of programmes through the use of vocational, recreational, social and educational activities on an individual and group basis
- Assessing clients' functional potential in their home, leisure, work and school environments, and recommend environmental adaptations to maximise their performance
- Providing advice to family members, carers, employers and teachers about adapting clients' home, leisure, work and school environments
- Delivering goal‑directed early childhood supports
- Assisting with community education activities to improve the health of individuals by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, diseases and disabilities Benefits

- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
