Description

The town offers direct flights to Townsville and Brisbane, quality schooling options (Prep to Year 12), childcare services, and accessible local health care. Responsibilities
- Providing support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Maintaining and applying all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
- Determining the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
- Managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Managing and maintaining effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
- Undertaking contract management and administration of road infrastructure projects. Qualifications
- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Qualified Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position, however applications will also be considered if evidence is provided that an assessment for RPEQ has commenced.
- Current holder of a Class C driver licence.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia.
- It is a condition of employment that the recommended applicant is to disclose any previous responsible discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Benefits
