About the roleBased within the North West Hospital Maternity Unit in Mount Isa, you will support women across antenatal clinics, inpatient care, birthing services and postnatal follow-up, while strengthening engagement, participation and continuity of care for First Nations families.Provide clinical support and assessments within scope of practice, including antenatal clinics, observations, screening, education and care coordinationDeliver culturally safe care, advocacy and navigation support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families throughout their maternity journeyWork collaboratively with midwifery, nursery and community services to improve attendance, reduce missed appointments and support safe discharge planningWorking with usFor 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,605. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,815... and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,210 (pro rata for part time employees).In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (full time employees) (inc. spouse/dependents) or 1 return airfare p.a. (part time employees) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your Recreation leave.RequirementsTo perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
