- Ability to maintain clean and tidy bins and work areas.
- Robust communication with staff and adherence to safety procedures. What We Offer Part-time role based on site in Mudgee, working 24 hours per week (each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Salary range $1,510.48-$1,699.95 gross per fortnight (pro-rata) plus superannuation, equating to an annual salary of $39,272.48-$44,198.90 gross (pro-rata) plus superannuation and allowance (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience). Key Accountabilities
- Operate Council’s rear load collection truck to ensure all bins are emptied as per the collection roster.
- Ensure that all bins and the area around bins are clean and tidy.
- Communicate with other staff (including those on rostered weekend work) to explain work plans before their shift on the landfill.
- Carry out manual tasks as required and keep all work areas, trucks and plant in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
- Promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement.
- Operate and maintain plant to complete routine waste collection tasks, under limited direction, in compliance with Council Standards, Procedures, Policy and Environment Protection Authority (EPA) requirements.
- Operate the waste collection trucks, water truck, sidearm, front lift, rear loader, sweeper, hook lift in a secure and effective manner, knowing the limits of the trucks to ensure safe operation.
- Monitor waste stream collected and manage or report any issues relating to contamination in accordance with council policy and EPA requirements.
- Collect all waste in and around waste collection containers to ensure the area is left clean and tidy.
- Ensure all material collected is transported and delivered/disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Drive with safety and be conversant with and observe transport regulations which apply to truck operations, State Licence regulations and traffic laws.
- Report to senior staff any infringements to Councils policies for landfill and transfer station operations.
- Be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change, demonstrating a willingness to do what is required to deliver quality outcomes, within your skills, competencies and training.
- Participate proactively as a team player to contribute towards the achievement of team goals.
- Ensure works comply with quality systems including standards of works and environmental protection issues.
