Complete a 4- or 5-year apprenticeship (dual trade), gaining a nationally recognised trade qualification while working on Caterpillar equipment and the latest technology. You’ll build strong hands‑on skills while training in contemporary facilities and workshops with expert support. Based in Mudgee this program sets you up for long‑term career growth from technical roles to leadership and beyond. Responsibilities and Learning Objectives
- Assist with inspecting and diagnosing electrical systems on Caterpillar equipment
- Support repairs and replacement of electrical components under supervision
- Learn and apply basic electrical circuits and wiring principles
- Assist with installing electrical systems on new machines
- Read and follow schematics and technical drawings with guidance
- Safely use workshop tools and equipment, including forklifts and cranes (with training)
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant work environment
- Follow Caterpillar procedures and quality standards throughout all tasks About You
- Must be 16 years or older by December
- Australian working rights (Citizen or Permanent Resident)
- Strong communication, reading and writing skills
- Genuine interest in mechanical trades, machinery or hands‑on learning
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport (or close to obtaining one) with ability to travel to work and training
- Honest, reliable and dependable
