With a rich 50-year history, Wellington Preschool prides itself on being a home away from home for our families and community. We are an independent kindergarten governed by a parent-run Committee of Management, supported by the Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) and the Department of Education. We offer play-based learning programs for both 3-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old Kinder groups, underpinned by structured opportunities that support early literacy, numeracy, social development, and children’s understanding of community and belonging. In 2022, we proudly moved into the Wellington Child and Family Hub — a modern, state-of-the-art facility featuring two kindergarten rooms, Maternal and Child Health services, consulting rooms, and community playgroup spaces. We are currently seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Enrolment and Administration Officer to join our supportive team.
**About the Role** The Enrolment and Administration Officer is a key support role within our preschool community. You will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service while building positive relationships with families, staff, the centre manager, committee members, council representatives, and visitors. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes initiative, communicates confidently, and thrives in a community-focused environment. **Key Responsibilities** **Office Administration**
* Oversee daily office operations and maintain office supply inventory
* Act as a liaison between families, staff – including the centre manager, committee members, and council representatives
* Support the smooth running of administrative systems and processes **Communication**
* Answer phone and email enquiries in a professional and welcoming manner
* Greet families and visitors to the preschool
* Draft correspondence and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders **Record Keeping**
* Maintain accurate and organised physical and digital records
* Manage and update systems including:
* Arrival
* Kinder M8
* Storypark **Banking and Reporting**
* Assist with basic bookkeeping and budget tracking
* Support preparation of management reports
* Assist with fundraising administration through QKR **Enrolments**
* Coordinate and administer enrolments as allocated by Council
* Support families through the enrolment process with professionalism and care **About You** **Required Skills and Experience**
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* High attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems
* A proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion **Desirable Skills and Experience**
* Experience working in a small business or community-based environment
* Experience working around children or within an early childhood setting
* Comfortable assisting with occasional basic supervision of children when required
* Experience working with Kinder M8, Storypark, QKR and Arrival is highly desirable **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualification Required:**
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care **Employment Conditions**
* Classification: Children’s Services Award 2.2 – Introductory Educator (Diploma)
* Paid during school holiday periods
* Required to work:
* Term 3 school holidays
* Two weeks prior to the commencement of Term 1 to support enrolments and administration
* Kindergarten closes during school holidays
