About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, plating, stock control, kitchen cleanliness, and maintaining food safety standards in a busy, rapid-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

The Cook will be responsible for: Preparing, cooking, seasoning and presenting a variety of food items in accordance with menu requirements and recipes. Assisting with daily food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, seasoning, slicing and assembling ingredients to support efficient kitchen operations. Cooking and plating barbecue and casual dining dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Working effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen workplace, particularly during peak service periods. Portioning food, controlling wastage and assisting with stock rotation to minimise spoilage and maintain cost control measures. Operating commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking appliances, safely and effectively. Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards and workplace health and safety procedures. Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is prepared and served according to quality standards. Cleaning kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and storage areas to maintain a clean and hygienic workplace. Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction. Ensuring all food preparation and storage activities comply with company policies and relevant legislative requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have one of the following: AQF Certificate III plus at least 2 years of on-the-job experience; or AQF Certificate IV; or At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
