Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated TRUCK DRIVERS to join our team on a full time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Parilla site in South Australia. As a valuable member of our team, this position will play a vital role in the success of our operations. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for transport we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Transport Manager you will be working in an outdoor farm environment. An attractive remuneration package between $70,000
- $90,000 is available to the right candidates. Duties include:
- Drive trailers using varied trucks, manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading.
- Load and unload vehicles using lifting and tipping devices.
- Connect and disconnect trailers from B-Double and Road Train combinations.
- Ensure all paperwork is checked for accuracy before loading and unloading trailers.
- Confirm all produce bins and crates are labelled correctly before transporting.
- Observe safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles.
- Conduct regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely.
- Estimate load weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight.
- Inspect loads and ensure full compliance with national Chain of Responsibility Code
- Ensure goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage.
- Verify loading documents, checking condition of goods, and obtaining certification of deliveries.
- Unload produce from trailers at the wash line, ensuring safe and effective use of the high-pressure water cannon system to minimise produce damage and water wastage.
- Effectively operate a forklift to transport bins and crates of produce.
- Conduct daily inspections and basic preventative maintenance and report deficiencies to supervisors or the maintenance department of current or anticipated repair needs.
- All other requirements as directed to achieve business objectives. Requirements:
- HR / HC / MC Manual Truck Licence (essential).
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence (essential).
- High Risk Work Licence (essential)
- Minimum of 2-3 years relevant truck driving experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose faults.
- Experience reversing into narrow loading areas.
- Cultural adaptability and a willingness to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A willingness to be hands on and participate in a broad range of duties, a strong work ethic is essential.
- Respect for others and pride in team’s performance.
- Commitment to ongoing learning.
- Commitment to delivering team goals and the drive to be successful. This position will require weekend and night work in line with production demands.
