- Lower cost of living and excellent work-life balance in Regional South Australia About the Role As Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, team leadership, and commercial performance. In the Store Manager’s absence, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the store. You will help lead Department Managers and broader store teams to deliver:

- Strong merchandising and presentation standards
- Effective stock and inventory control
- Sales growth and operational performance
- Positive team culture and accountability
- High standards of safety and compliance This is a highly hands-on leadership role where you will lead from the front, support day-to-day store operations, maintain high store standards, and drive results through effective leadership, rostering, merchandising, stock management, and customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and team performance
- Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager’s absence
- Lead, coach, and support Department Managers and broader store teams
- Manage labour productivity through effective rostering and task allocation
- Ensure stock availability remains high while maintaining inventory accuracy
- Drive sales through strong merchandising, presentation, and promotional execution
- Execute catalogue activity, seasonal events, displays, and in-store promotions
- Maintain high standards of customer service, store presentation, and compliance
- Respond to customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Ensure food safety, WHS, and company policies are consistently upheld
- Tour the sales floor regularly to identify operational priorities and customer needs
- Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members to maintain operational standards
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and the local community
- Identify opportunities to improve store operations, team performance, and customer experience What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Grocery Manager, Department Manager, or FMCG Retail Supervisor
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent understanding of merchandising, stock control, and supermarket operations
- Ability to lead teams within fast-paced retail environments
- Customer-focused and community-minded approach
- Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to drive accountability while maintaining a positive team culture Essential Requirements

- Availability to work day shifts, weekends, and retail trading hours as required

- Comfortable working in cold storage areas when required
