Step into a pivotal role where you'll drive compliance by investigating development and building matters, gathering evidence and representing Council in legal proceedings to uphold legislative standards.
**About the role**:
- Undertake compliance investigations and actions related to development and building matters within legislative frameworks.
- Deliver high-quality customer service, particularly when resolving complaints and providing advice addressing community concerns.
- Manage tasks proactively and independently, meeting deadlines with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare written reports and correspondence using Council’s Record Management system in line with legal and organisational requirements.

- A base salary ranging from $81,860 per annum with competency-based increments up to $96,965 per annum, plus 11.5% super

- **We are seeking**:
- Holds a Diploma (or higher) qualification in town planning, building, environmental engineering, environmental protection, law, or a related discipline.
- Brings strong experience in compliance roles, with proven ability to interpret legislation and present evidence in legal settings.
- High written and oral communication skills, with experience in conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Works independently, manages competing priorities effectively and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Is tech-savvy with advanced computer skills, a current driver's licence and a solid understanding of planning and compliance legislation.
