Pearl Energy is a growing Australian petroleum retail business providing customers with quality fuels, lubricants, automotive products and convenience-store services. Our Sandy Hollow service station supports local customers, motorists and travellers by offering fuel, retail products and a reliable customer service experience. SPIM Pty Ltd, Sandy Hollow Servo is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager (General) to manage the daily operations of our Sandy Hollow service station and convenience retail outlet. About the Role: The Retail Manager will be responsible for organising, managing and controlling the day-to-day operations of the service station and retail store. The successful candidate will oversee customer service, stock control, staff supervision, sales performance, compliance and business administration to ensure the outlet operates efficiently, safely and profitably. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Manage and control the daily operations.
- Determine and maintain the appropriate product mix, including fuels, lubricants, automotive products, convenience items, food and beverages.
- Monitor stock levels, arrange ordering and ensure adequate inventory is available to meet customer demand.
- Implement purchasing, pricing, sales and promotional strategies in line with business requirements.
- Promote convenience-store products and other services offered by the business.
- Ensure high standards of customer service, including assisting customers with product enquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of stock, sales, cash handling, banking and financial transactions.
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenses and support the profitability of the retail outlet.
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise and performance-manage retail staff.
- Ensure staff follow company procedures, customer service standards and workplace policies.
- Maintain compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, food safety procedures, fuel-site safety standards and other relevant regulations.
- Ensure the premises, forecourt, fuel pumps, retail areas and storage areas are clean, safe and well presented.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and management regarding stock, maintenance, pricing and operational issues.
- Prepare reports for management on sales, staffing, stock, customer feedback and store performance. To be considered for the role, applicants should have:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail management, service station management, convenience retail, fuel retail, hospitality retail or a similar customer-facing business.
- Solid knowledge of stock control, ordering, merchandising and retail sales operations.
- Ability to supervise, train and lead staff in a busy retail environment.
- Good understanding of cash handling, sales reporting and basic budgeting.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends, public holidays and varying shifts as required.
