Associate Equine Veterinarian (Denman)

Position Scone Equine Group is seeking suitable applicants for Associate Equine Veterinarian positions in a seasonal capacity from approximately August through to January, with discussion around an ongoing permanent position to be encouraged. It would suit applicants with at least 2 years graduated experience in mixed or equine practice, but new or recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The successful applicants will join the Ambulatory/Reproduction team with diverse responsibilities tailored to the applicant’s strengths and experience. The role involves working within a team of vets servicing the Scone region of the Upper Hunter Valley, with opportunities in the neighbouring Denman or Murrurundi areas. We expect the afterhours roster to be 1 in 3 or better with adequate back up and second opinion from experienced and specialist veterinarians. We encourage seasonal veterinarians to consider more than one season of employment with us to give our clients continuity of care while ensuring the successful applicant can see a clear path for skills and career development over time. Location The area of Scone, Denman and Murrurundi is in the heart of the thoroughbred breeding industry in Australia with the second largest population of breeding horses in the world. It is also home to a large performance horse population and the Upper Hunter area is in close proximity to the larger regional centres of Tamworth and Newcastle. Selection Criteria Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification that can be fully registered in New South Wales, Australia. Applicants who are only eligible for limited registration may apply. Scone Equine Hospital will assist the successful applicant with the VISA requirements for working in Australia if necessary. - Salary range $110,000 – $130,000 (AUD) yearly salary depending on experience with conditions outlined within a contract of employment
