Volunteer Community Transport Driver (Deniliquin)

Are you keen to support your local community? We’re looking for reliable volunteer drivers to support the safe transport of clients to various appointments. Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and comfortable transport of clients using a community transport vehicle.
- Destinations may include doctors’ appointments, hospital/medical appointments, aged day care, social outings and shopping.
- Assist clients with mobility, i.e., walking or getting in or out of the vehicle or with seating.
- Monitor daily maintenance requirements of the designated vehicle and equipment, including cleaning.
- Uphold the Intereach values of partnership, leadership and social justice. About You We are seeking drivers who are good communicators and passionate about supporting the local community. Qualifications
- Well-developed understanding of the needs of Community Transport users including people with disabilities, frail aged, carers and children.
- Knowledge of the Deniliquin Local Government area.
- Demonstrated history of reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to complete a full health assessment (cost reimbursed by Intereach).
- Provision of driver history.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence with a Passenger Transport Code “T” (NSW) or willingness to obtain one.
- Willingness to undertake a criminal record check.
- Current Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Clearance to work in aged care (not listed on the Aged Care Register of Banning Order).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one.
