Leading Hand Metal Fabricator / Fabrication Supervisor (Yandina)

Paulger Engineering is seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Metal Fabricator to join our growing team on the Sunshine Coast. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys leading from the front, coordinating workshop activities while remaining actively involved in fabrication, welding, assembly, and production work. About the Role You will play a key role in overseeing daily workshop operations, maintaining production quality, supporting team performance, and ensuring jobs are completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of fabricators, boilermakers and apprentices
- Coordinate daily workshop workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Perform hands-on fabrication, welding, fitting, assembly, and repair work
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control, and workshop safety
- Mentor apprentices and support skill development within the team
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and workshop efficiency
- Conduct final inspections to ensure completed work meets company and customer expectations
- Participate in toolbox meetings and contribute positively to workshop culture What We’re Looking For Essential
- Trade qualification in Metal Fabrication / Boilermaking / Engineering
- Strong fabrication and welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience within a workshop workplace
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Forklift Licence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
- Full Australian working rights Desirable
- Experience in truck body, trailer, or heavy vehicle fabrication
- Experience working in a production manufacturing environment
