Chef/Cook (Ninderry)

About the Role Fairhill Nursery is seeking a passionate and reliable Chef to join our growing café and hospitality team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment surrounded by nature, plants, and community. We are currently looking to fill both part-time and full time positions, depending on the right candidates and experience. We are looking for someone seeking a long-term role within our team and who is excited to grow with the business. Hours of Work
- Standard shift hours: 6:30am – 2:30pm
- Shifts include weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods as required Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook café menu items to a high standard
- Assist with seasonal menu development and specials
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Manage food preparation and service during busy periods
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Reduce waste and maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house and nursery staff
- Ensure consistency in food presentation and customer experience
- Assist with catering, events, and special functions when required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Positive attitude and team-focused approach
- Creativity and passion for quality food and presentation Requirements
- Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transport and punctuality
