Success Teacher (Moderate to Intense Intervention Specialist) – Bridges Learning Center Job Code 006, Time Schedule 380 (190 Days). Salary: $48,967.10 per year. Position is a State Teachers Retirement System position in the AEA collective bargaining unit. Position Description
- Apply individualized behavior strategies with consistency and fidelity.
- Design and monitor functional behavior assessment / behavior intervention plans (FBA/BIP) for disruptive behaviors.
- Develop an educational program that supports students with high needs in:
- Functional communication to facilitate access to environment.
- Adaptive behavior to facilitate access to less restrictive environments.
- Promoting individualized educational growth and development.
- Provide a balanced structure with flexible responsiveness.
- Facilitate flexible and individualized instructional delivery incorporating functional communication training and applied behavior analysis components.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, caring, and inviting learning setting by adhering to standards for conduct, interaction, and engagement; apply fair and equitable policies and procedures.
- Design and implement a program schedule that maximizes the effectiveness of classroom staff and resources.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Share responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned and strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Make modifications and accommodations to the classroom environment for students with disabilities in both regular and special education classrooms.
- Report to and carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the building principal. Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist Licensure, Moderate to Intense. Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of successful teaching.
- Commitment to working with students with significant cognitive disabilities (MD unit) with functional communication and adaptive behavior deficits.
- Willingness to attend professional development activities that improve skills in working with high‑needs students.
- Willingness to directly supervise classroom paraprofessionals providing continuous training, support, and feedback.
- Seeking creative initiatives to help students attain their maximum potential.
- Willingness to work closely with other school personnel.
