Disability Support Worker – SIL & Community Access (Casual) Vela Care | Sunshine Coast QLD Vela Care is a values‑driven disability and community support provider on the Sunshine Coast. We are currently recruiting casual Disability Support Workers for both Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community / aged care support across the Sunshine Coast. Available Roles & Locations SIL Support Worker (Female Required) Coes Creek, Sunshine Coast Female support worker required due to participant preferences and personal care needs. Typical Shifts:
- Day shifts: 8:00am – 6:00pm
- Occasional overnight shifts (6:00pm – 8:00am)
- Shifts available 7 days per week Community & Aged Care Support Worker (Male Required) Northern Sunshine Coast – Cooran to Beerwah This role supports participants in the community and aged care settings and would suit someone calm, reliable, and confident working independently. Typical Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- Between 6:00am – 6:00pm Key Responsibilities
- Providing person‑centred disability and aged care support
- Assisting with personal care, daily routines, and community access
- Household cleaning and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment
- Supporting medication administration (where trained and authorised)
- Accurate record keeping, progress notes, and case notes
- Following individual support plans, policies, and safety procedures
- Maintaining professional boundaries and respectful communication Essential Requirements (Strict) Applicants must demonstrate:
- Clear spoken and written English suitable for:
- Case notes
- Incident reporting
- Professional communication with clients, families, and clinicians
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Understanding of Australian disability and aged care standards
- Current Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Blue Card
- First Aid & CPR
- Reliable transport
- Ability to work safely, reliably, and independently Highly Regarded Skills
- PEG feeding experience
- Medication administration competency
- SIL or aged care experience
- Strong time‑management and reliability history Employment Details
