## Procurement Manager ## Position Overview We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Procurement Manager to lead and optimise procurement operations across our organisation. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing frameworks, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials, products, and services that support our business objectives. The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a strong background in procurement or supply chain management, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. ## Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously monitor procurement strategies, policies, and plans to ensure alignment with organisational goals and budget targets
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and contract award, ensuring compliance with internal governance and Australian procurement standards
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes across quality, cost, lead times, and delivery performance
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and value generation
- Oversee the accurate recording of all purchase transactions and procurement data, utilising procurement systems and ERP platforms to monitor, confirm, and report on procurement requirements
- Analyse market trends, pricing movements, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate potential disruptions to business operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, and project teams to ensure procurement activities support broader business needs and project timelines
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and deliver measurable efficiencies through strategic supplier consolidation, spend analysis, and process improvement
- Direct, coach, and monitor the performance of procurement staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and high performance
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant compliance, ethical sourcing, and sustainability standards, including supplier due diligence and risk assessments
- Prepare and present regular procurement reports, KPI dashboards, and spend analyses for senior leadership and key stakeholders ## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in a procurement management or senior procurement role, ideally within a complex or high-volume environment
- Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that deliver tangible commercial outcomes
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience managing supplier agreements across a range of categories
- Proficiency in ERP or procurement management systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)
- Sound understanding of Australian procurement regulations, contract law, and compliance obligations
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data, market intelligence, and supplier performance metrics
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with experience directing and developing procurement teams
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic business environment ## Preferred Qualifications
- Membership or certification with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent professional body
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Experience with sustainable and ethical procurement frameworks or ESG-aligned sourcing strategies
- Exposure to category management methodologies or strategic sourcing across multiple spend categories
