Line Fishing Crew (Nelson Bay)

Longline fishing company working the East Australian Fishing Zone is seeking fulltime fishing crew positions
- Deckhands, Fishing Hands, Ships Officer, Master Fisher, Ships Engineer and Ships Master. Applicants need to have at least 2 years relevant line fishing experience with references. As a minimum, applicants will need to hold a valid certificate of attainment for the relevant position and be willing to undertake further training. All applicants must hold a valid First Aid Certificate. Applicants will need to be physically fit as the position involves working on deck for long hours, sometimes in rough weather. Applicants need to show positive communication skills and be able to work well in a team environment but also be able to carry out tasks unsupervised when necessary. The job entails working away from home for long periods. The company maintains a strict drug & alcohol free workplace, where employees are subject to random drug & alcohol testing as a condition of employment. A salary or percentage of catch rate as per industry standards will be negotiated according to qualifications, skills, experience and performance in the same or similar occupation. An annual salary for full time employees for the relevant occupation will fall in the range as follows (plus Super Guarantee);
* Deckhands & Fishing hands $68,863 to $76,515
* Ships Officer $72,000 to $82,000
* Master Fisher $75,000 to $82,000
* Ship's Engineer (Fishing) $72,000 to $82,000
