Downer is looking for a driven Contracts Administrator to support our Queensland Maintenance & ITS business with high-quality commercial and contract expertise. Based in either Arundel or Brisbane Airport , this permanent chance will see you working with a team focused on growth, partnering closely with delivery leaders, and taking ownership of end-to-end contract administration from pre-contract activities through to successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of procurement strategies, prepare and evaluate supplier/subcontractor RFQs, and help negotiate commercial terms that set projects up for success.
- Own the preparation and management of contract documentation, including variations, extensions of time (EOTs) and claims, while maintaining robust registers and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Contribute to project handovers, develop commercial management plans, and provide practical commercial advice that helps delivery teams perform at their best throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Proactively identify and assess risks and claims, work with legal and commercial stakeholders on resolution strategies, and support dispute resolution to protect project outcomes.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders (clients and subcontractors), keeping communication clear and momentum strong across every phase of delivery. What you'll bring
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Contract Administrator (or a similar commercial/contract role).
- A strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, with confidence navigating the commercial and legal factors that influence project delivery.
- Proven experience managing post-contract award deliverables, ensuring requirements are captured, tracked and closed out.
- Experience in construction programming and schedulingbuilding and maintaining project programmes, tracking progress, and producing clear updates to support on-time delivery.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to bring others along to achieve the right outcome.
- Well-developed analytical, planning and prioritisation skills.
- A track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
