This is a rare prospect to step into a role with genuine enterprise‑wide remit—integrating FP&A;, corporate finance, financial control and commercial outcomes into a single value‑creation function, reporting directly to the CFO. The Opportunity Commercial at the core Own aeronautical pricing strategy, lead airline negotiations and chair the Airline Consultation Group. This is a seat at the commercial table—not a back‑office finance mandate. Lead complex capital investment assessments, own business case governance and present directly to the Executive Committee and Board. You set the return hurdles. Platform transformation Modernise financial reporting infrastructure to scale with QAL's capital program. This is not steady‑state stewardship—it is a transformation mandate with lasting legacy. Partner the CFO, CEO, Board and shareholders. You operate as a strategic adviser—not a function head waiting to be consulted. What You Will Own
- End‑to‑end FP&A;—5‑year plan, annual budget, forecasting and long‑range financial modelling across the QAL group
- Aeronautical BBM model ownership and pricing negotiation leadership alongside the Chief of Aviation
- Capital investment governance—project returns, investment principles and cross‑functional business case oversight
- Group financial control—statutory accounts, regulatory reporting, external audit management and Board/RAC papers
- Tax structuring and compliance oversight in partnership with external advisers
- Leadership of a multi‑disciplinary finance team: Group Financial Controller, Corporate Finance Manager, FP&A; and Transformation Manager, and Manager of Business Partnering & Capital What We Are Looking For
- 15+ years in senior finance, corporate finance or commercial roles— with at least 5–8 years at GM, Head of Finance, CFO‑1 or Commercial Director level
- Ownership of group‑level FP&A; and financial performance management across multiple business units
- Demonstrated M&A;, valuation and complex investment assessment experience at Board level
- Track record of influencing CFO, CEO and Board—not just preparing their materials
- Aviation or infrastructure industry exposure highly regarded—but not a prerequisite for the right candidate A note on candidate profile We are open to backgrounds beyond aviation.
