- Supportive team culture – work with a respectful, experienced team and a manager invested in your growth About the Role Due to the recent growth within Ventia’s Critical Infrastructure Telepower team, we are looking to employ multiple Electrical Design Engineers in full‑time permanent roles. This role is based in our Stapylton, QLD office with a hybrid work workplace and regular travel requirements across QLD. You will be required to work away from home for short periods of time to complete site visits and be comfortable driving to these locations. You will have access to a 4WD company pool car for travel. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of Telepower systems such as solar and hybrid‑solar.
- Support the design and construction team to manage end‑to‑end projects including the forecast of materials, detailed quotes, and engineering solutions for specific programs of work, monitoring progress of completions against specified timeframes.
- Regularly consult with construction crews and supervisors to optimise design outcomes and improve processes.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding products, specifications, and delivery schedules and clients to meet desired design and project outcomes. About You
- The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical theory.
- We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as electrical technicians, recent electrical graduates and seasoned engineers.
- A self‑motivator with eagerness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and time‑management skills.
- Practical experience is highly regarded, e.g. working as a field technician or exposure to the telecommunications, maintenance or construction industries.
- Ability to use various computer packages including Excel, Access, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Knowledge of ISO9001, OH&S; legislation/guidelines and environmental legislation/licensing.
- Current driver’s licence and the ability to work away from home when required.
- The ability to develop technically fit‑for‑purpose solar and battery designs for the commercial market and proficiency in the solar industry and related regulations and requirements; a basic understanding of LV/HV AC electrical systems is a highly desirable skill set for this role.
