About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Painter to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is suited to a tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and has experience delivering refined interior and exterior finishes. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing a range of surfaces across luxury residential and commercial projects. You will work closely with site supervisors and team members to ensure all work is completed to specification, on time and to a consistently high standard. What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, sealing and priming to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Assess surface conditions and determine appropriate preparation methods and coating systems.
- Apply paints, varnishes and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
- Carry out detailed work including trims, edging, feature finishes and decorative elements such as gold detailing.
- Mix and match colours to achieve precise tones and consistent finishes across surfaces.
- Complete exterior painting works designed for durability under environmental and climatic conditions.
- Protect surrounding areas using appropriate coverings and masking techniques.
- Use ladders, scaffolding and access equipment safely to perform work at height.
- Inspect completed work and rectify defects to ensure all finishes meet required standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment and materials in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements, including secure handling of materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Clean and prepare work areas upon completion to maintain a professional site environment. What We’re Looking For
- AQF Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating or higher qualification, or at least three years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience in residential or commercial painting, preferably within high-end or detailed finishing environments.
- Strong technical skills in surface preparation and coating application.
- Experience in detailed trim work and decorative finishes.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
