Location: Office based – Varsity Lakes QLD Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to manage financial operations across Australia and New Zealand within a energetic, multi-entity educational services group. This is a hands‑on and strategic role where you will take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and system improvement. You will work closely with senior leadership to support business growth while ensuring full compliance across both jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly and annual financial reporting across AU & NZ entities
Ensure compliance with ATO, ASIC, ASQA (Australia) and IRD, NZQA, TEC (New Zealand)
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow across multiple companies in Australia and Current Zealand
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision‑making
Manage external audits end‑to‑end
Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
Improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting efficiency
About You
Degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and taxation compliance across both Australia and New Zealand (essential)
Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing and improving accounting systems and processes within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and Private Training Establishments (PTEs)
Robust knowledge of AU & NZ regulatory environments including ATO, ASIC, BAS, GST, IRD, IFRS / NZ IFRS, and cross‑border compliance
Proven ability to manage audits and maintain strong internal controls
Experience with NZQA (Current Zealand Qualifications Authority) and ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority)
Experience with TEC (Tertiary Education Commission – New Zealand) and VET (Vocational Education and Training – Australia) financial frameworks
Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills
