The Role The College is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Secondary English Teacher to join the team in a full-time, 12-month maternity leave contract commencing in Term 3, 2026. This role will involve teaching English across Junior and Senior Secondary, with the ability to teach Senior Secondary English viewed favourably. Reporting to the Head of Junior Secondary, the successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging and high-quality learning experiences that support students to achieve their personal best. All teaching staff at Coomera Anglican College are expected to contribute to the full life of the College, including active participation in pastoral care, sport, cocurricular programs and special events. To Be Successful, You Will
- Be passionate about and experienced in teaching English across Junior and/or Senior Secondary.
- Demonstrate the ability to differentiate and deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
- Apply contemporary teaching and learning pedagogies.
- Effectively incorporate digital technologies into teaching and learning.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum.
- Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider College community.
- Be willing and able to contribute to the cocurricular and sporting life of the College.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people. Qualifications and Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education.
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
