Housekeeping Team Leader Reports to: Housekeeping Manager and/or Supervisor Positions reporting to this position: Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants Key relationships: Front Office Manager, Front Desk Team Leader, Guest Services Agents, Owners and Guests Primary objectives: As the Housekeeping Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the department operates within budgets and guidelines and to the standard expected by the Manager. Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, you will participate in the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping Department, specifically preparation and quality checking of all apartments and common areas, and assist with cleaning apartments as required. Principal Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests, owners and other staff members at all times
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with running the department to the desired standard
- Maintain high standards of communication with guests, staff and management
- Inspect rooms and common areas on a regular basis
- Clean apartments when required, ensuring all guest rooms are satisfactorily completed within allotted timeframes
- Maintain monthly inventory of stock and report discrepancies to Housekeeping Manager
- Exceed guests’ requests
- Keep accurate records and monitor all requests through Housekeeping (e.g., Lost Property, VIP rooms)
- Delegate workload and assist with other departments’ requests
- Assist reception with requests when required (e.g., cots, highchairs)
- Maintain positive relations with other staff and management
- Maintain discipline and make recommendations as required
- Prepare apartments for cleaners and conduct quality checks of rooms
- Ensure a neat, safe workplace for Housekeeping staff and guests
- Maintain all Housekeeping related equipment in working order
- Complete weekly turn cost/turns
- Assist with weekly rosters
- Order stock to meet par levels
- Represent the Housekeeping department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager
- Be dependable and flexible in roster Key Position Criteria
- Maintain efficient running of the department within budget guidelines and to high standards
- Display efficient and effective cleaning within allocated timeframes
- Work within a versatile roster, including nights, weekends, public and school holidays
