Mineral Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Industrial IoT to join our Process Technology Development team. In this role you will design, develop and maintain embedded software for industrial IoT and operational technology devices primarily based on STM32 microcontroller platforms. You will work across the full product lifecycle including development, testing, integration, and operational support while collaborating with electronics systems and technology specialists to deliver reliable, secure and maintainable solutions for industrial environments. This role plays a key part in supporting creative technology solutions used across Mineral Technologies equipment and operations worldwide. What we are looking for We are looking for an experienced embedded software engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, embedded systems or operational technology environments. Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware using C and C++.
- Work with STM32 or similar microcontroller based platforms.
- Develop real‑time or multithreaded embedded applications.
- Implement and support industrial networking protocols such as MQTT.
- Debug, test and optimise firmware directly on hardware.
- Apply embedded systems electronics fundamentals and hardware‑software integration knowledge.
- Diagnose complex system‑level issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Support firmware reliability diagnostics and system performance improvements. Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A disciplined engineering approach with a focus on reliability, maintainability and operational safety.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams. What we offer
