Claims Triaging Officer (City of Gold Coast)

About the Role ARC Projects is seeking a motivated and highly organised Claims Triaging Officer to join our fast‑paced team. This role is responsible for receiving and triaging incoming insurance building claims, gathering accurate information from insured parties and tenants, and ensuring claims are allocated correctly for a successful outcome. The successful candidate will be confident managing a high volume of phone calls and capable of asking the right questions to gain a clear understanding of the incident, the affected areas, and the scope of works required. Key Responsibilities
- Enter new insurance claims accurately into the company system
- Contact insured parties and/or tenants to discuss the claimed incident
- Gather detailed information regarding cause of damage, areas affected by the incident, severity and urgency of works required
- Ensure all claim information is documented clearly and accurately
- Identify and coordinate the appropriate trades required for the successful completion of works
- Prioritise emergency and urgent works where required
- Liaise with insurers, homeowners, tenants, contractors, and internal departments
- Maintain strong communication throughout the claim process
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls daily
- Ensure all company and insurer service standards are met Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in insurance, building, call centre, administration, or customer service roles preferred
- Solid phone manner and confidence speaking with customers
- Ability to manage a high volume workload in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Competent computer and data entry skills
