About the role Our General Insurance Brokerage is seeking an experienced Account Manager/Senior Account Manager to join our dynamic Broking team on the Gold Coast. This full-time position is based on the Gold Coast and will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with our key SME, Commercial and Mid-market clients. Focus will be on exceptional service, strategic risk management, market management and positive and proactive client outcomes. What you’ll be doing Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial & midmarket accounts, working closely with our existing GC team and the Branch Manager as well as clients, in understanding their needs and providing tailored insurance solutions Client & Portfolio Management – Oversee and grow a diverse portfolio of SME and mid-market clients, delivering exceptional customer experience. Strategic Advisory – Provide expert risk advice, ensuring clients are well-informed and adequately protected both across their insured and uninsured risks. Renewals & Onboarding – Manage the end-to-end process for policy renewals and new client onboarding. Mentorship & Leadership – Support and develop a training culture alongside the team as well as support more junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices. Market Negotiation – Engage with insurers to secure competitive terms and comprehensive coverage for clients. Business Growth – Identify opportunities for new business and growth and increasing both New Business and existing customer share-of-wallet within existing accounts. Maintain and expand existing accounts through regular client engagement and consultative selling, alongside the Branch Manager. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your client portfolio and the broader marketplace. Contribute to the development of innovative insurance products and services to meet evolving client needs. Provide accurate and timely reporting on account performance and pipeline development. What we’re looking for 2-4+ years of experience in a senior account executive/ account management or strategic risk management role within the insurance broking industry. Someone who wants to make a name for themselves, learn their trade and drive great outcomes for their clients. Proven track record of successfully managing and growing SME and commercial client relationships. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with clients. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills to handle complex client requests and challenges. Thorough understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting processes. Strong market management skill set with an aspiration to cement long term relationships. Ability to manage a decent $400k income general lines portfolio including a % bonus based on new business and retention. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative Broking team.
