Position Details We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at our PLG Head Office in Southport, on a Full Time basis. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the primary focus of this position is to support the financial management, reporting, and financial control of the Palm Lake Group of companies. Responsibilities
- Lead month-end financial accounting processes, including:
- Preparation of audit-quality balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Delivery of monthly management reporting packs.
- Analysis and reporting of financial results, KPIs, and key variances.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reporting including consolidated management accounts, financial statements, and financial statement analysis;
- Provide supervision, oversight and perform quality review of certain reconciliations, reporting and analysis prepared by finance team members;
- Assist in the preparation of lender and external regulatory agency reporting;
- Assist in annual and half-year financial statements preparation and statutory audit process;
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling quarterly forecasts;
- Prepare cash flow reporting, forecasting and treasury activities;
- Engage with Group and Divisional operational employees in the preparation and dissemination of reporting and forecasting results and analysis;
- Assist the Financial Controller in the management of the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams;
- Participation in finance system implementation projects;
- A wide variety of ad-hoc projects as required by the Group Financial Controller and CFO;
- Providing back up for other finance team members. What We’re Looking For: To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Current CPA or CA qualification
- A current National Police Clearance
- Minimum 3-5 years post-graduate experience in a medium to large size enterprise
- Advanced Excel skills, including spreadsheeting & report writing
- Strong computer literacy supported by experience with enterprise level Accounting ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly regarded)
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) & interpersonal skills
- Robust organisational skills, able to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- A proactive, inquisitive approach to problem solving
