This innovative program has been designed to prepare graduates for professional practice as an exercise scientist and an exercise physiologist. Delivered within a highly personalised teaching environment, the program reflects Bond’s strong industry engagement, applied focus, and commitment to producing work‑ready graduates. We are seeking a passionate and student‑focused academic to contribute to teaching across exercise science and exercise physiology curricula. The role involves delivering lectures, tutorials, practical classes and workshops, contributing to subject coordination, assessment and student consultation, and supporting high‑quality learning experiences across the discipline’s programmes. A strong emphasis is placed on applied teaching, clinical relevance and alignment with Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation standards. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive academic team, working closely with industry and clinical partners, and contributing to placement supervision, programme development and student recruitment activities. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape curriculum, influence the next generation of clinicians and exercise scientists, and be part of a growing discipline with strong professional visibility. Requirements – Ideal Applicant
- Accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) with Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA), or eligibility for accreditation.
- The capability and confidence to teach across exercise science and exercise physiology content areas, including applied and clinical subjects.
- A bachelor degree with honours level qualification in a relevant discipline.
- A postgraduate qualification (PhD or master’s) in exercise science, exercise physiology or a closely related discipline is expected at assistant professor level.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in higher education, with experience delivering lectures, tutorials and practical classes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues and industry partners.
- Experience or interest in curriculum development, practicum or placement supervision and professional or clinical engagement. Additional credentials, including accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), or eligibility for accreditation (desirable) and/or ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach accreditation, are highly desirable. - Flexible work options: full‑time position with the option for job shares.
- Location: Based at the Bond University Institute of Health & Sport, Gold Coast, Queensland.
- Travel: Visit each external placement provider at least twice during the semester in which the placement subject is offered. Salary Details
- Assistant Professor A remuneration commences at $165,010.96 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
- Assistant Professor B remuneration commences at $138,836.18 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
- Senior Teaching Fellow remuneration commences at $111,294.10 per annum plus 12% superannuation, increasing to 17.5% after successful completion of a two‑year probation. The selection panel will determine the level of appointment.
