**About The Role**: As a Therapeutic Support Worker (Intensive Therapeutic Care), you will play a crucial role in providing personalised care and support to our client. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support a vibrant 16-year-old imaginative explorer who has a playful spirit, is fun, energetic, and loves outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, sports!
As the successful applicant, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Promoting and support positive relationships and connection for children and young people with family, culture and community
- Empowering young people to set and achieve personal goals, fostering a sense of agency and autonomy in their lives
- Meeting the young individuals daily care needs such as personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs
- Document accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care for the young individuals journey with Lifestyle Solutions
- Teaching key capacity building skills to young individuals diagnosed with disability, complex needs and behaviours.
- Ensure NDIS plans are accessible while in our care
- Providing positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis
- Supporting young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills
- Advocating for the rights and needs of the children and young people
- Acting as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support in developing healthy interpersonal relationships
**About You**: We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support in offering support to young individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with autism and complex trauma
- Experience in trauma-informed care and person-centred care
- Ability to manage restrictive behaviors with patience, empathy and compassion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of nonverbal cues such as body language, facial expressions, gestures and emotions
- An interest in the outdoors and willingness to join imaginative explorer in fun filled activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with the ability to express ideas, thoughts and information clearly.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities
- Essential qualifications include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver’s license, and a suitable minimum qualification, lived experience or be eligible for a traineeship._
