Cleaner / Administration Assistant Newcastle

We are currently seeking a Cleaner / Administration Assistant to work at the Newcastle Mater Hospital. You'll work as part of our supportive cleaning team to ensure the cleanliness of the hospital whilst providing genuine service and care to the patients, staff and visitors within the hospital.

The Position

Provide general administrative support (filing, marking up audits, covering shifts when staff call in sick)

Provide skilled customer service

Work Monday to Friday, a 38‐hour week (casual prospect)

Perform general hospital cleaning duties, including public area and ward cleaning, waste collection

Assist with urgent cleans or additional tasks around the hospital as requested

Use cleaning machines

Wash external surfaces and furniture

The Person

Excellent eye for detail and well presented

Experience in an administrative role using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and iPad

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Remain calm under pressure in a fast‐paced workplace

Experience in a hospital or aged care cleaning environment and team leadership experience considered an asset; training will be provided for reliable applicants keen to learn
