- Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) Support Services Department Calvary Mater Newcastle Temporary Full-Time and Part-Time Everyone is welcome at Calvary Mater Newcastle As a Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) you will be responsible for providing support across the hospital, working seven (7) days a week 24-hour rotating roster. The Health & Security Assistant (Wardsperson) will provide non-clinical care to a variety of areas, including but not limited to: To assist nursing staff in patient care To transport patients for admissions and discharge To attend all emergency codes and mortuary duties To assist security staff in code black situations To be on call for cleaning of discharge beds as required on night duty To attend to ICU on night work, weekends and public holidays or when there are no ICU Technicians available Rotating roster works 8-hour shifts over a 24/7 period.
