Recreation & Engagement Assistant (Newcastle)

Position: Recreation and Engagement Assistant (Residential Care) in Narrandera. Casual role with salary packaging opportunities up to $31,800 per year. About the role As a Recreation and Engagement Assistant at RSL LifeCare, you are empowered to make a meaningful difference to people's lives in a supportive work environment. You will have the opportunity to work with residents and their representatives to enhance their wellbeing and independence.
- Support the goals of care for residents in partnership with each resident and/or their representative.
- Identify barriers preventing consumers from participating in meaningful and enjoyable activities.
- Encourage the wellbeing and independence of residents by supporting them to engage in preferred activities and interests.
- Embody a person‑centred approach, recognising and promoting each individual's unique goals and preferences.
- Participate in risk management and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Build strong and productive relationships with your team to deliver positive outcomes for residents. Qualifications and Experience
- A fantastic outlook on life with a fun personality.
- Experience working in Lifestyle/Recreational Activities teams in aged care, disability, or community services desirable.
- Cert IV in Leisure and Health and/or a relevant tertiary degree preferable.
- A sound understanding of aged care and its guiding principles.
- General computer skills.
- Australian work rights.
- Mandatory: a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check (or both) to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
