We are seeking to establish a pool of Science
- Head of Learning Area (HoLA) for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Morley Senior High School’s vision is to celebrate diversity and cater for the needs of all students, with the goal of everyone achieving their personal best. Students in Years 7 to 10 have access to engaging programs, including two Department of Education approved specialist programs: Aviation Academy and the Media Arts Design Academy. In addition to these we also have the school‑based merit selected Performance Plus program and Soccer Academy, as well as operating our Intensive Language Centre. The Role Suitable applicants will be responsible for leading a high‑performing Science team, fostering a positive school culture, and driving excellence in teaching and learning across Years 7 to 12. Ideally, with a strong commitment to staff development, the HoLA would support, coach and mentor teachers to build capacity, promote best practice, and ensure continuous improvement aligned with the school’s pedagogical framework. They would also translate the school’s priorities outlined in the Business Plan into a responsive and improvement‑focused Learning Area Operational Plan. Suitable applicants will ideally display exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead others and a forward‑thinking approach to curriculum and instruction, embracing opportunities for innovation and collaboration. Skills in strategic planning, performance development and data‑informed decision‑making will be valued. Effective organisational and event management skills and smooth delivery of programmes and initiatives would be highly desirable. A deep understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, including Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways, and a commitment to inclusive and differentiated learning is desirable. As a member of the school’s leadership team, suitable applicants will contribute to whole‑school initiatives, promote wellbeing and build strong partnerships within and beyond the school community.
