This role involves preparing and baking a wide range of high-quality bread products while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and food safety standards in a busy retail bakery environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread products including loaves, rolls, buns, and specialty items
- Measure, weigh, mix, knead, and mould dough according to standard recipes
- Monitor fermentation and proofing conditions to ensure optimal product quality
- Operate bakery equipment including mixers, proofers, and ovens
- Adjust oven temperatures, humidity, and baking times as required
- Maintain consistency in product quality, appearance, and taste
- Manage daily production schedules to meet customer demand
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and storage of ingredients
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality control
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Assist in training and supporting junior team members Requirements
- Relevant qualification in baking or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a commercial bakery
- Strong knowledge of bread production processes and baking techniques
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
