This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, ****. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly effective and motivated person to join our growing Student Services team at Alkimos College. The position presents an opportunity to assist the Program Coordinator Student Services and Year Coordinators in providing information and guidance to students, staff and parents with a view to contributing to improved student attendance and effective student support services. Located in the northern suburb of Alkimos with sweeping ocean views, Alkimos College opened in **** with our foundation Year 7 cohort, providing local intake area students with access to an exceptional secondary education in world-class learning facilities. Each year we added an additional cohort and reached our full complement of Year 7-12 in ****. Stage 1 buildings include administration, lower school student services, library, gymnasium, fitness centre, food studios, cafeteria, IT labs, technology workshops, general classrooms, nine science laboratories, and nature play area. Shared oval and community facilities with the City of Wanneroo are available via the adjacent Halesworth Park precinct. Stage 2 (rolled out in ****) includes a performing arts centre, lecture theatre, senior school student services centre and general classrooms. The Role The Student Support Officer assists with administrative processes and provision of information to students, staff and parents, ensuring a responsive and effective student support service. Part of the role includes collaborating and conducting discussions with students, staff, parents/carers and community members to identify student absenteeism and truancy and to collect and provide case information. The successful applicant will ideally have a vibrant personality, be highly motivated, flexible, reliable and have a high degree of resilience as student services is a fast-paced environment. Ideally the successful applicant should provide a high level of customer service in all matters of student services as required, in a timely and efficient manner.
