Position Overview Clinical Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist / Counselling / Forensic Psychologist – Division: Child Protection and Family Support – Position No: Pool Ref COM****. Salary: Operational Officer Qualified Stream Level 3, $129,211 – $142,460 per annum pro‐rata plus superannuation (DOC) CPCSA ****. Work type: Fixed Term – Full Time. Location: Rockingham, Fremantle, Armadale, Midland, Wheatbelt. Closing Date: :00 PM (YYYY-MM-DD). Role Summary The Department of Communities brings together disability services, child protection and family support, community initiatives and regional services reform. You will provide trauma‐informed and culturally responsive clinical services that promote recovery, healing and wellbeing for children in Out‐of‐Home Care. Approximately half of your time will involve clinical advice and referral, while the remainder will comprise counselling and therapy for children in care and support and guidance for their carers. Responsibilities
• Deliver culturally responsive, trauma‐informed clinical services for children in Out‐of‐Home Care.
• Provide clinical advice, referral and counselling to children and their carers.
• Work in various locations including Armadale, Cannington, Fremantle and Pilbara (fly‐in‐fly‐out or head office). Qualifications – Psychologist Roles Psychologist (Provisional) Operational Officer Qualified Level 1 : Tertiary degree in Psychology or equivalent approved by the Psychology Board of Australia; eligible for 'Provisional Registration' on the AHPRA register of Psychologists and for one of the following: Commence or continue an approved Psychology Board of Australia internship pathway to achieve general registration. Work in addition to university placements, in compliance with the Board policy, while completing a higher degree pathway to general registration; complete an accredited postgraduate degree of two or more years duration (two‐year Master's or Doctorate). Psychologist Operational Officer Qualified Level 2 : Tertiary degree approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and 'General Registration' as a Psychologist with AHPRA. Psychologist Operational Officer Qualified Level 3 : Two‐year postgraduate master's degree in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or approved equivalent, eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and specialist endorsement with AHPRA as a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist.
