Residential Design Officer (Western Australia)

Responsibilities As part of the Building Services team, you will assess applications and provide specialist advice to internal and external customers for Residential Design Code variations. You will prepare written reports for the approval or refusal of proposed variations, and negotiate with applicants, ratepayers and other interested parties to ensure consistent application of the Residential Design Code principles. Qualifications and Experience Suitable candidates may have prior experience as a building surveyor, urban planner or shire liaison for a building company. You should possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, solid attention to detail, and well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of the Residential Design Codes of Western Australia and confidence in consistent decision-making are essential. Requirements include a WA "C" class driver's licence and a recognised urban planning qualification such as a Bachelor degree, Graduate Certificate in Development Planning, or an equivalent qualification under the Building Services (Registration) Act ****.
