Description
This is a 11‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position commencing ASAP. The System and School Performance Directorate supports evidence‑based decision making, accountability, and performance improvement across the Department through the development of policies, frameworks, data analysis, and reporting systems. It oversees key programs and services including student assessment and reporting, system performance monitoring, Gifted and Talented programs, Reporting to Parents, the Online Incident Notification System, and the On‑entry Assessment Program. Within the Directorate, the Student Assessment and Reporting Branch manages and supports a range of system‑level student assessment, participation, and engagement initiatives. It is responsible for administering the On‑entry Assessment Program, coordinating Gifted and Talented selection processes, monitoring compliance and student participation requirements, maintaining critical student information systems, and providing data analysis, reporting, and strategic advice to support departmental planning, policy development, and legislative obligations. Role Summary This role provides administrative, technical, and operational support for the On‑entry Assessment Program, assisting schools and Department staff with assessment processes, online functionality, and reporting requirements. Responsibilities
- Support the quality assurance of online assessment systems, coordinate assessment resources for schools, and provide advice and assistance to ensure effective program delivery.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the On‑entry Assessment online content and related Ikon services, while supporting the creation of program resources, information materials, and data management processes.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data to support strategic planning, reporting, and informed decision‑making across the program.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, the Information and Communication Technology Division, and external education sectors including Catholic and Independent schools.
- Apply strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills to support collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
- Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to strategic and complex problems and issues in the area of student assessment.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to undertake high‑level consultations and negotiations.
- Demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in early childhood education. Eligibility
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
