Position Summary An opportunity is available for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) currently living in Western Australia to gain an orientation to the Western Australian (WA) healthcare system at Armadale Health Service through participation in an observership program. The program involves a clinical observership generally 6-12 weeks in duration providing access to the hospital's clinical teaching and educational resources. Observerships will commence on various dates from 30 March ****. Eligibility to apply for Observership Have never been registered with the Medical Board of Australia. Have completed a medical degree and internship from an overseas training institution recognised by the AMC and the World Directory of Medical Schools. Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia. Have passed the AMC Computer Adaptive Test Multiple Choice Questionnaire (AMC CAT MCQ) examination. Have met the English Language skills registration standard of the Medical Board of Australia. Currently have full working rights in Australia. Currently residing in Western Australia. NOTE: Applications that do not meet the above eligibility criteria will be considered ineligible and will not progress further. Essential Selection Criteria Please individually address each of the following essential selection criteria in a cover letter and attach to your application. Recent experience as a remunerated medical practitioner overseas, within a hospital setting across one or more disciplines of medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, paediatrics, women's health and mental health. Please note that roles of a voluntary nature, those that were not financially renumerated or those conducted entirely in a clinic or outpatient setting are not considered sufficient for this criterion. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work appropriately with patients, their families and an inter‐professional health care team(s). Demonstrated organisational and time management skills to provide protected, timely patient centred care. Demonstrated participation in continuing medical education activities to maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Detailed curriculum vitae which demonstrates your experience and how you are able to meet the position requirements. Evidence of your medical degree and internship from an overseas training institution recognised by the AMC. Evidence of completion of AMC CAT MCQ examination. Evidence demonstrating that you meet the Medical Board's English Language skills registration standard. Evidence of your Visa allowing full working rights in Australia.
