Talent Right is partnering exclusively with Concept Materials, a family‑owned business part of the wider Concept Group, to recruit a driven, commercially sharp Business Development Manager to lead sales growth across Western Australia. About Concept Materials Concept Materials imports and wholesales the Millboard range of premium low‑maintainance decking and cladding products across Australia. With robust UK supplier backing, a growing distribution network, and a clear national growth plan, WA is at the heart of what comes next. The business operates through distributors, hardware stores, and trade partners, supported by direct engagement with installers, builders, architects, and designers. About the Role Reporting directly to Titus, Head of Concept Materials, you will be the face of the brand across WA. This is a strategic, hands‑on role with genuine autonomy. You will run your patch like your own business, generating leads, converting opportunities, and building relationships across the trade. The role splits roughly 60% new business generation and 40% nurturing existing trade relationships (installers, carpenters, distributors). You will work within a CRM (transitioning from ACT! to HubSpot) to manage the pipeline. Around half a day to a day a week is spent out on the road, with the rest based at the Canning Vale office. Customer service is deliberately separated from this role. An internal admin team handles day‑to‑day reseller queries so you can stay focused on selling. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new leads through cold outreach, CRM activity, and market research
- Target builders, carpenters, installers, and trade contractors across WA
- Engage architects and designers to drive product specification into commercial projects
- Manage and convert inbound web leads, and nurture existing trade relationships through regular contact
- Conduct monthly or bi‑monthly visits to resellers, ensuring samples, displays, training, and support are in place
- Deliver face‑to‑face and virtual presentations to architects, designers, and industry stakeholders
- Gather competitor insights and contribute to the national sales strategy The Ideal Candidate
- Brings proven BDM or hunter sales experience, with evidence of self‑generated pipeline and consistent conversion
- Has solid knowledge of building products, decking, cladding, or related materials (or strong adjacent industry experience)
- Understands the project lifecycle, specification sales, and how to influence architects, designers, and builders
- Communicates credibly across both ends of the market — polished and professional with architects and designers, equally comfortable on site with builders and tradies
- Is CRM‑disciplined and confident managing their own pipeline (HubSpot experience is a plus)
- Is hungry, proactive, and motivated by ownership and results rather than commission incentives Industry knowledge helps, but attitude, drive, and the ability to hunt and convert are the priority. Prior experience leading or scaling sales teams is a strong advantage — as Concept Materials grows nationally, including planned East Coast expansion, there is genuine scope to grow into a sales leadership role over time.
