Responsibilities of the position
- Assists with the development and production of project management documentation used in the definition and delivery of projects, including project plans, presentations, reports, project variations and schedule information.
- Designs and develops communications to promote and support project objectives.
- Receives, stores and distributes project specific documentation; monitors and controls revisions; conducts quality control checks on documentation.
- Manages records with confidentiality.
- Liaises with internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Provides scheduling and logistical support for meetings, events and regional business travel.
- Assists the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
- Other duties as required. Selection criteria Essential
- Understanding of project management, project support and delivery.
- Well-developed verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in designing and developing hard copy and digital communications and social media content.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in managing correspondence and administrative tasks.
- Commitment to the principles of unionism.
- Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) or equivalent. Desirable
- Experience working with Unions.
- Experience working with migrant populations and/ or lived migrant worker experience.
- Ability to communicate verbally and/ or in writing in a language other than English. About the Protecting Migrant Workers project This project will increase the awareness and understanding that temporary migrant workers in WA and their employers have of their workplace rights and obligations under the Migration Act. It will achieve this through a range of activities, including developing and promoting information online and in print targeted at migrant workers in WA to explain workers' rights and safety information. The Protecting Migrant Workers project team will use a workplace and community outreach strategy through unions, community groups and social media. This project will be delivered by UnionsWA in collaboration with the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre (IARC) and the Migrant Workers Centre (MWC). Please note that funding for this program and hence this position expires on 30 June 2026.
