Heavy Diesel Fitter | Newman Residential WA | Lifestyle Roster

About the Role BHP Newman Operations are currently seeking highly motivated Heavy Diesel Fitters who will relocate to Newman and join our Mobile Maintenance residential teams for upcoming opportunities. Roster Lifestyle roster (4 days on – 5 off, 5 nights on – 4 off, 5 days on – 5 off, 4 nights on – 5 off, 5 days on – 4 off, 5 nights on – 5 off). Equipment
- Ancillary: Cat 994 & 922 Loaders, 16M, 24 and 18 Graders, D11 and D10 Dozers, 385 & 374 Excavators
- Field equipment: Epiroc drills D65, PV271, Liebherr excavators, R996B
- Trucks: CAT, Haulmax haul trucks, water carts, floats, service trucks
- LV / Auxiliary: Highway Trucks, Service Trucks, MPUs, lighting plants, generators Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, attending breakdowns and running complex diagnostics / testing and fault‑finding of mobile fleet
- Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections and following specific maintenance programs
- Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment
- Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting in the implementation of new initiatives in a constructive way
- Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of work Qualifications
- Australian recognised heavy mechanical qualifications
- Technically / mechanically sound skills with Liebherr, CAT, Cummins and/or Epiroc
- Demonstrated diagnostics and breakdown experience with both trucks and ancillary equipment
- Dogging, rigging and forklift licences desirable
- A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure
- Computer literacy and/or experience in SAP
