Accountant About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at Starkey Australia based in our Alexandria, Head Office. This is a full-time permanent role where you will play a crucial part in our growing Financial Accounting & Reporting team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and analysis activities across Australia and New Zealand operations. You will play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and management reporting while partnering closely with leadership and the APAC Finance team to support business performance and financial objectives. Your Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting
- Perform month-end close activities including:
- Prepayments
- Accruals
- Payroll journals
- Warranty provisions
- Sales return allowances
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for Corporate Finance
- Perform general ledger, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process
- Calculate and manage customer rebates and discounts
- Monitor and manage cash flow activities
- Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and ITI filings
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and year-end statutory reporting Management Accounting
- Prepare monthly management reports with commentary against budget and forecast
- Analyse SG&A; variances and provide insights to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team
- Monitor COGS and Gross Margin performance and provide monthly analysis
- Manage employee expense reimbursement processes using Concur
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and financial procedures
- Collaborate closely with the APAC Finance team to support regional financial objectives What Success Looks Like

- Demonstrating accountability and ownership of responsibilities
- Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes About You Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- CPA or CA qualification (completed or nearing completion preferred) Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar financial accounting or management accounting role Technical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP and finance systems such as Oracle, SOP, HOST, and Concur
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant financial standards
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis,
- Can speak Mandarin as a second language. Personal Attributes
