About the Role Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a diverse range of projects. Excellent opportunity to join a leading national enabling works contractor, where you work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and senior management to develop methodologies, pricing strategies, tender submissions, and project handovers. The role will suit a commercially minded individual with strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tenders within tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of detailed tender proposals
- Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documentation
- Develop construction methodologies, programs, staging, and pricing strategies
- Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Participate in tender reviews and ensure submissions comply with Delta Group procedures and delegated authorities
- Attend tender interviews, client meetings, and site inspections
- Conduct subcontractor tender interviews and assessments
- Input to tender registers, reporting, and bid tracking processes
- Deliver detailed handovers of successful projects to operational teams
- Mentor and develop Estimators and Junior Estimators as appropriate
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across estimating systems and processes
- Support business development activities and identification of future opportunities About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- 6+ years’ experience in estimating within construction, civil, demolition, remediation, or related industries
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering fundamentals
- Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Knowledge of project scheduling software, including MS Project and/or Primavera P6
- Understanding of contract management and project delivery principles
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
- Practical and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrates strong accountability by consistently delivering on commitments and proactively addressing risks with solutions.
- Maintains a continuous improvement mindset, taking initiative to enhance performance, efficiency, and professional capability.
