Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Nursing Unit Manager role is accountable for the operational bed management, access and patient flow through Royal Prince Alfred hospital (RPAH) on a day to day basis. The role responsible for providing strong leadership, advanced analytical and negotiation skills. The Nursing Unit Manager role is responsible for timely escalation of patient flow issues to the Nurse Manager Patient Flow l and executive unit after hours. The Nursing Unit Manager Level 2 responsibilities in relation to patient services, ward or unit management and staff management are in excess of those of a Nursing Unit Manager Level 1. - Current unencumbered Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Holds or working towards relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in rostering: managing skill mix and care delivery models according to patient services. Proficient problem solving skills and experience in performance management. -
