Sydney Boutique Shared Homes has been proudly serving the community for over 5 years, operating, and managing safe and social share houses for young professionals. We are currently seeking a casual Maintenance Officer/Handyman to ensure the upkeep of our property portfolio and providing a safe and pleasant living environment for our occupants.

**Role Description**: As a Maintenance Officer/Handyperson, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of our shared houses, in addition to supporting setup and styling of new properties. Working closely with our operations, cleaning, and administration teams, you will address day-to-day upkeep and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall comfort and satisfaction of our occupants.

**Duties and Responsibilities**: **(some depend on skill/experience; hands on training will be available)**
- Perform general handyman repairs
- may include patching/painting, carpentry (basic), plumbing (basic).
- Transport and delivery/setup of furniture, fixtures and appliances.
- Construction of furniture e.g. bed frames and flatpack furniture.
- Install/repair door locks, window hardware, flyscreens.
- Garden and exterior building maintenance.
- Undertake routine property inspections and record/feedback issues, schedule and implement repairs/replacements.
- Maintain upkeep and attractiveness of our properties and grounds.
- Assist in preparing rooms for occupant move-ins and new home openings.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain documentation related to repairs, safety, and legal requirements.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Must have a solid foundation of experience, skills and knowledge in a handyman role or related job/industry to enable you to undertake the roles as outlined in the job description (attached).
- 2+ years practical experience in a related industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Full unrestricted driving license
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards, including relevant training and certifications.
- Must have a genuine enjoyment of handyman/physical work and be driven to learn and develop skills and to take pride in your work.

**Reporting Relationships**: This position reports to the company Directors and their PA and Administration team.

**Pay**:$25
- $35 per hour + super depending on experience and qualifications

**Hours**:casual work, daytime schedules (typically between 8:00-15:30)

**Location**: Our funky HQ office is in Newtown, Sydney. You will work across all our property sites in Southern Sydney spanning from Rozelle to Newtown to Maroubra to Vaucluse.

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Weekend availability
